Neethia has 18 years of academic experience. Other than an LLB (Hons) from the University of London UK, he also holds a BA (Hons) Education from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Master Degree in Education (with Distinction) from Universiti Malaya, Neethia is also Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) awarded by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, USA. He is presently the Deputy President of Tourism Educator’s Association of Malaysia and Committee Member in Education and Training for the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Neethia was appointed as the Auditor for Malaysia Quality Evaluation System (MyQuest) (auditing private colleges) by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in 2011. His Major contribution is the establishment of Taylor’s – Toulouse (Malaysia- France) education partnership that has proven to be successful and sustainable at an international collaboration in Technical education between Europe and Asia.
His recent project at the national level is related to human capital development in tourism working towards transformation of the Malaysian Community College in Langkawi into a Tourism Academy with a close partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Community College Division. This public and private partnership model which is one of its kinds at this level was meant to transfer knowledge and technology in the field of Hospitality and tourism with benchmarked international practices into local community colleges.
