Literally, I am a food lover and a real glutton! Little did I know that I was on a journey to become a food scientist and be a part of its academics. With a B.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition, I proceeded to work in the food industry as a Food Technologist (R&D Executive) in a renowned flour mill in Malaysia. Later, I proceeded to obtain a Masters in Food Technology in USM, specialized in Food Biopolymers. Upon obtaining a Ph.D. in Food Biopolymers from USM, I joined Taylor’s University as a lecturer.

Being in academia has given me a new insight of life as an educator. It has given me the privilege to communicate with the younger generations, to teach and to be taught. Apart from lecturing, my passion lies in research. On the research front, my research interests are mainly in the physicochemical properties and functionality of food biopolymer system (focus on carbohydrates, starches and proteins). I have published 6 papers in international citation-indexed journals (Q1) with h-index 5. I always believe that research and development is the best way to improve the quality of life.
